The program is in partnership with the Simcoe County District School Board and is a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to develop programs that address both academic and mental health needs for the student.

The Acute Outpatient Services for Child and Youth (formerly known as the Urgent Consult Clinic) opened October 5, 2015 as a pilot project to respond to  youth experiencing an emergent psychiatric need.  The service provides risk assessments (not diagnostic) to youth ages 12 – 17 Mon – Wed – Fri during regular business hours. As well as follow up appointments, and linkages to community resources for ongoing support.

Referrals are currently received from RVH, Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, Georgian Bay General Hospital, Muskoka Algonquin Health Centre  and Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Emergency Departments.

Mental Health Day Program: From the Main Entrance follow the Blue Navigation Line to the Central (Green) Elevators to level 3. Turn left out of the elevator to the unit.

Mental Health Outpatient Services: From the Main Entrance follow the Blue Navigation Line to the Atrium (Orange) Elevators to level 3. Turn left out of the elevator then your first left down the hall to the unit.

  • This is a walk-In clinic for individuals 16 years of age and up whom are struggling with substance use concerns; or for family members seeking personal support around a loved one's addiction. Referrals will also be accepted but not needed.

  • The clinic will allow individuals to be seen by a member of the inter-professional team, as well as the physician or nurse practitioner, to help respond to the individual's treatment needs.

  •  Service is short term and appropriate referrals are made for continued client care.

  •  The clinic serves all of North Simcoe Muskoka but main offices are currently in Barrie, Orillia and Midland.

A team of psychiatrists provide consultation, assessment and treatment to individuals in other service components of the Mental Health and Addiction Program.

Referrals from community physicians are accepted from the greater Barrie area.

Individuals will be referred back to their primary care provider when services are completed.
