Goals of the Program:
- Re-integrate student into academic community school program
- To develop effective strategies to address educational gaps and barriers interfering with a student’s educational success as a result of their impairment due to anxiety and/or depression symptoms
Voluntary participation of students. Active participation of parents and caregivers.
Commitment to ongoing treatment post discharge and being an active participant in your care team.
Students and caregivers are aware the Day Program is a school integration program not a credit recovery program.
The student will be provided with a safe environment to obtain both educational support and treatment of their mental health needs.
The enrolled student will become a temporary student of Eastview while attending the program. Transition back to your home school is mandatory.
Treatment is time limited but flexible to meet the individual needs of each student ( the Day Program is not semester based).
The student must have the ability to manage self in an appropriate manner given breaks and lunches are unsupervised. The student must be able to complete individual course work with the support of the teacher when needed.
Grade 9 to 12 students (up to your 18th birthday) who have exhausted the resources at their community school.
To be considered the youth must be exhibiting acute or chronic symptoms of anxiety and/or depression.
Students must be agreeable to the program.
Students must reside within the given catchment area and be able to access the program by transportation.
Students who are actively suicidal or homicidal.
Students with chronic violent behaviours and/or a primary diagnosis of Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, or substance abuse.
Students that have not completed expulsion conditions/requirements.
Cognitive abilities below the 1st percentile.

How to make a referral
All referrals must be initiated by the student’s community school personnel.
If you are working with a student who meets the referral criteria and would benefit from day program please contact the student’s community school to request they complete the referral package.
Referral package may be obtained by contacting RVH at CYMHDayProgramReferrals@rvh.on.ca
The completed package, including the referral form and all supporting documentation, is to be scanned and emailed to CYMHDayProgramReferrals@rvh.on.ca or faxed to (705) 739-5690. Please send documentation to the attention of the RVH Child and Youth Mental Health Day Program.
The program will only process referrals when it is in receipt of the complete referral package.
