Goals of the Program:
- Re-integrate student into academic community school program
- To develop effective strategies to address educational gaps and barriers interfering with a student’s educational success as a result of their impairment due to anxiety and/or depression symptoms
Voluntary participation of students. Active participation of parents and caregivers.
Commitment to ongoing treatment post discharge and being an active participant in your care team.
Students and caregivers are aware the Day Program is a school integration program not a credit recovery program.
The student will be provided with a safe environment to obtain both educational support and treatment of their mental health needs.
The enrolled student will become a temporary student of Eastview Secondary School while attending the program. Transition back to your home school is mandatory.
Pre-established program schedule with anticipated completion dates.
Grade 9 to 12 students who have exhausted the resources at their community school.
Students exhibiting acute or chronic symptoms of anxiety and/or low mood/depression, with school avoidance.
Students must be agreeable to the program.
Students must reside within the given catchment area.
Transportation to/from Day Program must be arranged.
Students who are actively suicidal or homicidal.
Students presenting with chronic violent behaviours.
Active substance use during the school day.
Cognitive impairment limiting participation in programming.
Cognitive abilities below the 16th percentile.
Siblings cannot be admitted at the same time.

How to make a referral
All referrals must be initiated by the student’s community school personnel, including Guidance Counsellors.
If you are working with a student who meets the referral criteria and would benefit from day program please contact the student’s community school to request they complete the referral package.
School board staff may access referral package by contacting RVH at CYMHDayProgramReferrals@rvh.on.ca
The program will only process referrals when it is in receipt of the complete referral package.
