At the General Respiratory & Pleural Disease Clinic, we are dedicated to the comprehensive care of patients with respiratory and pleural disorders. Whether you’re dealing with a persistent cough, unexplained shortness of breath, or abnormal chest imaging, our experienced team provides expert evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment tailored to your needs.
We diagnose and manage a wide range of respiratory and pleural conditions, including:
- Abnormal chest X-rays or CT scans
- Ascites (malignant)
- Asthma
- Chronic cough and unexplained shortness of breath
- Interstitial lung disease
- Non-cancerous lung nodules/masses
- Pleural effusions – malignant, with drainage at home/community
- Pleural effusions – unexplained
- Recurrent lower respiratory tract infections
Our clinic is also equipped to perform specialized procedures when needed, such as:
- Thoracentesis – removing excess fluid from the pleural space
- Indwelling pleural/peritoneal catheter insertions– for managing symptomatic malignant effusions/ascites
Our care team includes:
- An Interventional Pulmonologist – Respirologist with advanced training in diagnostic and therapeutic interventional pulmonary procedures
- A Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) providing bedside support and patient care
- A Respiratory Therapist (RT) specializing in pulmonary function and respiratory care
With a focus on patient comfort, safety, and continuity of care, we work closely with referring providers and specialists to ensure timely and effective management.
This clinic does not accept referrals for diagnostic assessment for cancer. Please refer to the Respirology/Thoracic DAP program if appropriate.

For your convenience, please park in the Volunteer and Patient parking lot. Upon arrival, enter the building through the Level 1 (Simcoe) entrance.
To register, please use one of the electronic kiosks located in the Simcoe entrance area. If you need assistance, our Registration attendants are available to assist you.
After registration, turn right and proceed down the hall. The Medicine Treatment Clinic is located further down the hall on the right, just past the Child & Youth Treatment Clinic.
Once you reach the clinic, please check in at the reception desk and take a seat in the waiting area.
