RVH Board welcomes new Chair

Jon Babulic has been elected Chair of the Royal Victoria Hospital Board of Directors. Babulic, who is the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Barrie, was elected for a two-year term at the RVH Annual General Meeting held June 8, 2010.

Parking Changes at RVH

In response to requests by patients and visitors, Royal Victoria Hospital is implementing a new visitor parking system on July 19. The new system provides a variety of pay options -- including short term parking -- instead of one flat fee. Revenues generated from parking will be directed toward patient care and the purchase of medical equipment.

RVH Announces Further Efficiencies

Royal Victoria Hospital has announced further initiatives which will streamline care, help it deliver on its commitment to operate within government-funded resources, while maintaining safe, high quality care.

While explosive population growth means demand for RVH services has never been greater, the hospital is committed to balancing its budget. RVH finished the 2009-10 fiscal year with a deficit of slightly over $3 million. Hospital expenses will climb over 3 per cent this year, while government funding is expected to increase no more than 1.5 per cent.
