RVH's Centre for Education and Research officially opened in May 2018. This space is home to the simulation lab, classrooms, a mock training room, research ethics, education and research offices and a student lounge, making it a multi-functional, purpose-built in space. This dedicated space provides an environment to validate and explore best practices, while clearly demonstrating RVH's commitment to both teaching and research.

Clinical Simulation

CT-Simulatsor-training-web.png
In 2012, RVH formally launched a Clinical Simulation program. Clinical simulation has quickly become the gold standard for medical education by mimicking real life medical scenarios within a risk-free learning environment. Simulation has been proven to reduce medical errors and improve patient safety by facilitating professional development and inter-professional collaboration. By creating interprofessional training opportunities, simulation will act as a catalyst in building a culture of trust and respect within teams. Improved collaboration among health professionals and enhanced clinical skills will serve as a means to improve quality and patient outcomes. High- fidelity scenarios include: Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, and Trauma.
