COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic
RVH's COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic is located within the COVID-19 Assessment Centre at 29 Sperling Drive, Barrie. The clinic makes testing, assessment and care more accessible for people who develop moderate symptoms common to COVID-19, the flu or a cold and need to see a doctor.
This clinic provides an additional option to timely access to care outside of the Emergency department, however if the symptoms are severe, a visit to the Emergency department is the best option.

What is the difference between the COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic and the COVID-19 Testing Clinic?Patients who have mild flu-like symptoms and do not need to see a physician can receive a COVID-19 test at RVH's COVID-19 Testing Clinic. The clinic is by appointment only and open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily. Appointments can be booked online.
Patients who have moderate flu-like symptoms and require further medical assessment by a physician should be seen at RVH's COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic between 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily. To book an appointment, please call the clinic at 705-797-3120 any time after 8 a.m.
When should I go to the COVID-19 Testing Clinic vs. the COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic?
The COVID-19 Testing clinic is for any patient that is exhibiting mild symptoms and would like a COVID-19 test. This clinic operates as a drive thru or walk in testing clinic (weather dependant).
Other criteria for the testing clinic includes:
• Asymptomatic patients who have been directed to receive a COVID-19 test (close contacts, pre-operative swab required, etc.)
• Individuals that require a test to visit/work in a long term care or retirement home
• Asymptomatic travellers that require a test prior to departure
If you have any of the following moderate and worsening symptoms and need to see a doctor, you should go to the COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic located at 29 Sperling Drive in Barrie
• Symptoms include:
o Cough, shortness of breath
o Sore throat or hoarse voice
o Runny nose or sneezing, nasal congestion
o Loss of taste or smell
o Nausea and vomiting, or diarrhea, or abdominal pain
o Flu-like illness
o Pink eye/redness of eye(s)
Is it safe for me to come to the COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic?
The COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic is located within RVH's COVID-19 Assessment Centre at 29 Sperling Drive, Barrie. Patients who are visiting the clinic will not have access to other areas of the building.
The staff and physicians at our COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic follow all of the appropriate Infection Prevention and Control practices to ensure your safety. RVH enacts enhanced regular cleaning practices and restricts visitors to the Clinic.
Everyone entering the facility will be given a mask to wear. Patients will be asked to wait in your car until a nurse/physician is available to see you.
Will a family member or friend be allowed to accompany patients to the COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic?
Beyond patients attending the clinic, only an adult accompanying a child who is a patient, a frail elderly person, a person with a disability or anyone acting as an interpreter will be allowed inside the clinic to further enhance the safety of patients, staff and the community.
Will the COVID-19, Cold and Flu Clinic accept patients without a health card or who are uninsured?
Yes. Anyone in need of care can be seen at either the COVID-19, Flu and Cold Clinic or COVID-19 Testing Clinic. Individuals are asked to bring their Ontario Health Card and Driver’s License, if they have one.
