PARKING INFORMATION

Revenues generated from parking will be directed toward patient care and the purchase of medical equipment.

Effective July 19

The General Visitors Parking Lot and the Emergency Parking Lot are open 24 hrs a day.

In response to requests by patients and visitors, Royal Victoria Hospital is implementing a new visitor parking system on July 19. The new system provides a variety of pay options -- including short term parking -- instead of one flat fee. Revenues generated from parking will be directed toward patient care and the purchase of medical equipment.

The new parking system will be managed by Precise Parklink Inc., a leading provider of ‘pay and display’ and ‘pay on foot’ systems across Canada. This system offers more short term parking rates, flat rate fees, 24 hour in / and out privileges, as well as weekly and monthly pass options.

To ensure optimum customer service, a parking office will be staffed Monday - Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. near the visitor parking lot to assist with parking transactions and questions. At other times, remote assistance is available via an intercom located at all entrances, exits and pay stations.

The system is extremely easy to use. Upon entering the visitor parking lot, guests will take a ticket from the machine at the gate and keep that ticket with them. When they leave the hospital, they will insert that ticket into a machine located either at the main level entrance, at the Emergency entrance, or from a booth beside the new parking office in front of the hospital. The machine will calculate the amount of time spent at RVH and display the payment required. Payment can be made by cash or credit card. Once the appropriate amount of time has been purchased, guests will simply insert that ticket into the slot at the exit gate. Payment can also be made at the exit gate directly using a credit card.


The new parking rates, effective Monday, July 19 are as follows:


$2 for 15 minutes
$3 for 30 minutes
$6 for 60 minutes
$9 for 90 minutes
$12 for 120 minutes
Maximum $15 / day
Weekly passes for $35
Monthly for $90
In / and out 24 hour rate $19
